Earlier in September, V1 Gallery/Eighteen, VEGA and Tuborg established a giant mural on Vesterbro in Copenhagen. The mural is made by Geoff McFetridge, and the idea has been to move the fleeting and intimate experience of a concert out into the city space, creating a permanent work of art for the neighbourhood. The work titled As We Improvise We Disappear depicts two musicians placed with their fronts towards one another, connected by a jumble of wires. The mural can be experienced at Vesterbrogade 135. The original piece measures 102 x 127 cm and will hang permanently in VEGA’s Main Hall (Store VEGA) where the venues many guests can enjoy it henceforward.
Geoff McFetridge will mount his first solo exhibition at Eighteen, opening October 26.
